By His Blood

Take this time to pray and thank God for His amazing love. Thank Him for Jesus and His blood that is able to completely wash your sins away. Jesus’ blood is enough to wash them all away, right down the river, never to be seen again.

Revelation 1:4-5   “John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood.”

The Bible says that Jesus washed us from our sins in His own blood. I drew a picture in my journal to convey that message clearly so I could understand what it was saying. Pictures help me to process and understand things better. I drew a stick figure, Jesus, standing beside a big tub filled with His own blood. He’s wearing a crown of thorns. Stick figure me is inside the tub and Jesus is washing me with His blood. He’s washing me from my sin. He took the time to fill up the tub with enough blood to purely clean me up, leaving nothing behind.  Jesus lived here on earth for a little over thirty years, and He lived a PERFECT life. He stayed clean of any type of sin you can think of. Think about how hard an average day is and how many temptations to sin come about in that day. Jesus lived here on this earth, not sinning once. That’s hard. That took self-control and perfection. He also came down from heaven, the loveliest, purest place ever known, knowing He would be treated like the scum on the bottom of His sandal. He was persecuted, left out, talked about rudely, abused, beaten, wrongly accused, and eventually CRUCIFIED. He poured out His blood so that it might wash us from our sin. His blood is pure, undefiled, precious and perfect blood. It cleanses. He was tortured to sacrifice His blood and die, but He loved us more than He loved comfort, and He loves us unconditionally. That’s the Jesus that I love! That’s the Jesus that loves you no matter what you’ve done! It’s your choice to accept His love or to reject it. Won’t you accept it today, fully and wholeheartedly?

What is God saying to me today?

How does this change my life and what are my next steps to reacting to Christ’s love and letting Him change my life?
