Child of God
Heart Prep
God, help me always to choose to do what is right. Help me to recognize sin in my life and confess it. Help me to show love to others, like You have shown Your love to me.
1 John 3:10 “By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious:
anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.”
We each have so many different responsibilities: school, work, family, friends, church, etc. Sometimes we are put into situations that we don't really want to be in, which can force us to have a responsibility we don't want to have. (“I can’t get a babysitter. I need you to watch the baby.”) (“I’m not feeling well this morning, will you please make lunches for everyone?”)
One important responsibility we all have is to do what is right in God’s sight. This is practicing righteousness. In 1 John 3 we are told how to recognize the Children of God. They live righteously and love one another. Sometimes this is easy to do; but there are times in life when this is very challenging. Still, God holds us responsible for our actions, thoughts, deeds, words, and attitudes, whether they are right or wrong.
As believers, we can choose not to sin. We can choose to take responsibility over our thoughts and actions and practice righteousness. But we can’t do it without the help of the Holy Spirit! As you prepare your heart for the day, hold on to the truth that you are a precious Child of God. Cling to God and trust Him to help you make the right choices. Choose what is right!
Practice pausing before you speak or act when you are in a difficult situation. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you, and follow His guidance

What is God saying to me?
Something I want to remember from this is…
How does this change my life and what are my next steps?
