God’s Love Letter

God, show me how Your Word is filled with Your love for me. Help me as I read, to hear from You.

2 Timothy 3:16-17  “All Scripture is inspired by God and (is) profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

When I first met my husband he wasn’t in a place in his life to start dating yet, and I was 3 hours away from my hometown, where he lived. So, we wrote cards and letters back and forth and after a few months the friendly cards turned into love letters. We wrote those love letters back and forth for 6 months before we officially started dating. His letters were filled with sweet words that just made me love him all the more. He told me about himself, about his goals, and the things that he liked about me. I would rush to the mailbox every day to see if I had received a letter, and my mood would instantly be lifted if there was one waiting for me.

There’s something special about receiving a letter from someone who loves you. And, sweet girl, I want to tell you - you have a love letter waiting to be opened. The Bible, God’s Holy Word, is not just a book filled with dos and don’ts. No, it is a love letter from the God of the Universe, the Creator of your life, the Savior of your soul. It is written to you, His daughter, His chosen one, and His bride. I hope as you read through the devotions in this book that you see every verse as being written to you from the God of Heaven, who loves you and wants to tell you all about Himself and the life He can give you.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us that Scripture is inspired by God, the very God who loves you so much that He died for you, and It is there to equip you for good works. He loves you and longs to lead you. Will you read His love letter?

Read the Bible every day, even if you only read for 5 minutes.  Start by reading the verse(s) in the devotion, and that may lead you to read even more. This is how you “grow . . . in the knowledge of God”.  2 Peter 3:18
