I Look to Him, and I Am Radiant

Heart Prep

Jesus, remind me of the truths You tell me in Your Word.
I am just as You designed me to be. I am Yours, and I am beautiful in Your eyes.
Help me look to You every time that I am fearful.

Psalm 34:3-5  “O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.
I sought the Lord, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed.”

Have you ever felt you weren’t good enough to . . . or good enough for . . .? You can only hear other’s words about the problems you have, and not the words that would make you feel loved. You look in the mirror and start pointing out all your flaws instead of the beauty you have. You see your grades, your body, and your relationship status, and you think, “Why don’t I have the things I want?” Some of our deepest fears as young ladies come from not feeling good about ourselves. And we can’t depend on other people to make us feel good. We must remember how valuable we are in God’s eyes.

In Psalm 34:3-5 the Psalmist invites us to magnify the Lord and exalt His name, to speak of His greatness and lift up His name in praise. Even in your darkest moments, you can praise Him, for the Lord is there with you at all times, and He is working, through your suffering, for your good and His glory. (Read 1 Peter Chapter 1). Constantly being put down by others, or having the voice of the enemy in your head saying, “You’ll never be good enough”, are forms of suffering, and should send you to God for reassurance and peace. Psalm 34:4 says, “(He has) delivered me from ALL my fears.” When you look to Him, instead of the people around you, even in the middle of your suffering and sorrow, you can be radiant. Radiant means sending out light; shining or glowing brightly. Looking to Him, getting His wisdom, and living for Him, we are radiant, reflecting the light of God into the world, just like the moon reflects the light of the sun. God promises that when we are looking to Him we will never be ashamed. We are worthy, because our worth is found in Him!
