Love Gives

Take this time to pray and ask God to open up your heart to feel His amazing love today. Ask Him to help you notice the little things today, the little blessings He sends along the way.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Love gives. Can you think of anyone more giving than God? He constantly gives. He gave His Son Jesus, He gives second chances and grace, love, wisdom, blessings, and answers. Reread that list slowly this time. Love gives even when it hurts. Could you imagine loving someone so much, having a wonderful, close relationship with them, spending every single day and hour with them, and then voluntarily giving them up for a people who don’t deserve it? God loved His Son so much, but there was a whole population that needed to be loved even more. They were and still are filthy and so lost and messed up that they don’t even realize their reality. God knew they were in need, and He had what they needed. They didn’t care about Jesus, and some still don’t. He gave up His only Son, and Jesus gave up His own life, knowing that people would still reject Him.

Why would He do this? Love. For God so loved the WORLD, that He gave His ONLY Son. God loved this crazy world; it was full of evil people running after their own lusts, disobeying Him and all that He was. Still, He deeply loved them. He loved them at their worst. He loved me and you anyway, and He continues to love us at our worst. Whether we have a testimony of coming from a painful dark place or a testimony of growing up in the church, we are the same filthy dirty people that God gave His Son to rescue. God doesn’t want any of us to perish. He wants us to live with Him in everlasting life. That’s love. And His love gives. We are so UNWORTHY of this amazing love, but He continues to love us. It is who He is. Love gives.

What is God saying to me today?

How does this change my life and what are my next steps?
