Oh, You of Little FAITH!

Heart Prep

Can I really believe and trust in something that I cannot touch or see?

Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.“

Do you find yourself wondering if God is real? Is the Bible really true? Did Jesus Christ really come to earth to die for your sin? After He was buried, did He come back to life three days later? In those moments, you are lacking faith, the complete trust or confidence in something you cannot see, touch or feel. Sweet girl, believing and having faith is a choice.  We believe in Jesus as our Savior and believe by faith that what He promised us, eternal life, is true. By faith, we believe even though we cannot see.

Imagine yourself walking into a new classroom on the first day of school. You are either assigned a seat or you choose your own. You walk up to a chair and, in a split second, you make a decision and then act on it, based on your faith. You believe the chair you’ve chosen can hold your weight and you sit down. Having faith (confidence and trust) that the chair can hold your weight is founded on truth.

Having faith to believe in God is a choice. We can look around and see His power and glory and the proof of His existence!  Look up at the sun, the moon, the stars! Think about a mother carrying a child within her for 9 months and then that squishy little bundle of joy (yes, you) opening those eyes and crying! You are wonderfully made! Look at the intricate details in the many different things you see each day. They could only come from God!  Choose to believe, by faith, that God is the giver of these things.
