God Made You With Purpose
Heart Prep
God, help me always to remember that I am loved, and I have a purpose.
You have a plan for me.
Psalm 139:16 “Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.”
God does not make mistakes. That truth is something I have to remember a lot as I look at myself in the mirror. Lies often creep up in our minds and say we are not good enough, talented enough, pretty enough, or smart enough. We compare ourselves to others around us until the way we view ourselves is completely different from the way God sees us. When these lies start creeping into my mind, I remind myself that God does not make mistakes. I might be average. I might be kind of clumsy. I might not make the best grades. But God made me unique, and I am proud to be me.
The Bible tells us that God has a plan for us from day one. Paul writes in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” God knew exactly what you would be doing today, and He has a marvelous plan for your life! God knows everything about you that makes you, you. He even knows every hair on your head. You are not a mistake! You were created with purpose and love by the Creator of the universe. It’s as if God said, “Today I am going to create this young lady. I have numbered her days, and I have a plan for her.” So the next time you think you are less than what you want to be, or that you do not measure up, remember that God handcrafted you to fulfill the exact purpose He has planned for you. Love Him and trust Him, and He will remind you of His love and guide you on the path of life. He “will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go (Psalm 32:8).”
