Strengthen and Establish
Heart Prep
Ask God to help you see how His strength in your life can be constant, and how to seek Him when you feel low or experience the enemy attacks.
1 Peter 5:10 “After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.”
Establish: plant firmly and cause to grow; make steadfast.
Every day, we find ourselves needing strength to conquer the enemy. The source of that strength is Christ, and we can do all things through Him as He strengthens us. We must rely on His strengthening power to hold us up and resist the enemy. We also need steadfastness so that nothing can overthrow our faith or hope, dampen the flame of our love, or interrupt the constancy of our obedience to God. By seeking God in prayer, and studying His Word, we can learn the ways that He instructs us and helps us to resist the enemy.
A lot of times we find ourselves expecting bad things to be coming around the corner. But don’t live life in fear! Know that God gives us the strength and confidence that we need. We have to seek it and rely on it though. I heard a friend say that we should live on the offense instead of the defense. Instead of living in fear, live knowing that you are already on the winning team.
As you end this study of 1 Peter 5:10, find peace in knowing that, even in the midst of suffering, God has called you and will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
