Truth: You Are Precious in His Sight

Heart Prep

Ask the Lord to help you see and believe that you are precious in His sight.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”

Do you think that God is sitting on His throne in heaven waiting for you to do something bad so he can hit you over the head?  Perhaps you imagine that He allows bad things to happen to you and then laughs at your struggles and hurt.  These are lies!

God loves you (Jeremiah 31:3), He sent His one and only Son to die in your place (John 3:16), and you are very special and precious to Him. Jeremiah 29:11 says that He has wonderful plans for you, good plans and not evil plans because you are special to Him.  Zephaniah 3:17 says that God rejoices and shouts with joy over you because you are precious in His sight.  Matthew 10:29—31 says that God knows exactly how many hairs are on your head because He cares about you. God never laughs at your struggles, tries to trick you, or intentionally misleads you. God is good.  He loves you.  He has good plans for you.

The writer of Psalm 56:8 says that his tears have been put in God’s bottle because God cares when he cries. Life is not always easy because there is sin, selfishness and corruption in the world. Even though God has good plans for you, He has given humans a free will, and when humans make bad decisions there are consequences; often innocent people get hurt. This is not what God designed, but it is a consequence of what humans have chosen. It’s important that you base your belief in God on truths about His character. He is a good Father, who loves you and has great plans for you. Believe these truths as you face the day, week, year and lifetime ahead, and remember that you are precious to Him.
