Will God’s Plan Always Be Easy?
Heart Prep
Pray and ask God to give you strength to follow His plan for your life.
Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the Lord your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.”
Romans 15:13 “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Following God’s plan is not always easy, but when God asks us to do something for Him, He is always there. God never intended for us to move through life without Him. We were created to have a relationship with God, and to fulfill His purpose for us.
In Luke, starting in chapter 1, we read that God chose Mary and Joseph to be the earthly parents of Jesus. Mary was a young teenager when an angel appeared to her and told her that God would place a baby in her that would be the Savior of the world. She was engaged to Joseph, but they were not married yet. Can you imagine how she felt having to tell Joseph she was pregnant? Can you imagine how other people viewed her? Joseph was going to send her away, but an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and told him that the child was of the Holy Spirit, and he should not be afraid to marry her. (Matt 1:18-25) Both Mary and Joseph believed and trusted God. God knew they would be obedient.
When Mary was very pregnant, they had to travel to Bethlehem to be counted in a census. This was about a 70 mile trek through mountainous terrain. Many illustrations of this journey show Mary riding a donkey, but there is no proof that she didn’t walk. And when it was time, she delivered this precious baby in a barn with animals.
Mary and Joseph were obedient to God’s call, not an easy call, but God was with them, walking and talking with them the entire time, helping them fulfill his purpose for them. The most fulfilling thing you will ever do is whatever God has planned for you to do! You were born with a purpose! You were born to walk with God!
